The Elevate Project Mural and Signage

This project went through a few different ideas before we landed on the final direction.
At first, I had a pretty wild concept with a lot of different objects and imagery. As we worked through the design, we ended up bringing everything closer to The Elevate Project’s brand, using their colors, logo inspired tags, and a visual language that felt more connected to the organization itself.
The final mural featured a Tulsa skyline with clouds moving through the background, layered with different graphic elements and references to the city.
I also added a few nods to Tulsa throughout the piece, including the Golden Driller along the side.
The goal was to make the space feel energetic, recognizable, and rooted in the city while still keeping the organization’s identity at the center of the design.
What made this project even more meaningful was the work happening inside the building.
The Elevate Project is a Tulsa nonprofit focused on helping young people find their worth and purpose, with services aimed at supporting youth and creating more positive pathways for their future. Their work is especially connected to East Tulsa, an area they intentionally serve because of the need for more accessible resources and support.
That made the project hit a little closer to home for me.
This is my side of town.
Being able to contribute artwork to an organization that is working to create something positive for young people in the same part of Tulsa where I grew up made the project feel more personal.
The mural was only one part of what I got to contribute.
Now that I have my own plotter machine, I have been able to expand the kind of work I can offer beyond murals. For this project, I also created and installed vinyl signage along with the main exterior sign above the building.
I enjoyed being able to help bring the vision together across multiple parts of the space instead of only painting a wall.
From the mural and branding elements to the signage outside, everything worked together to help give the organization a stronger visual presence.
I’m thankful for the opportunity to help bring her vision to life and contribute something to an organization doing positive work right here in the community.
