Tulsa Global District’s First Saturday Festival

I remember trying to figure out what I could paint in one day LIVE during this event. I knew I wanted to create something with butterflies. Here, the monarchs represented us, but it was also something that my mom liked a lot, butterflies and sunflowers. These two things would be something that I came to paint again and again, scattering butterflies and sunflowers throughout Tulsa. The portrait is of a friend, Annie.

I really enjoy painting at events like these. I get to do what I love in some sort of stage setting, there’s good food, drinks, friends and family all around; It’s a really good time. This event took place outside of Nam Hai, located on what is now the Tulsa Global District.

Here is some more details about the event covered by News on 6 and La Semana.
